General Accountability

‍ ‍

The Moytelexw Business Development Manager is a detail-oriented professional able to identify and capitalize on business development and business growth opportunities along with developing strategies to increase Moytelexw organizational success.

‍ ‍

The Moytelexw Business Development Manager is adept at initiating, negotiating and closing new business as well as maintaining and improving existing business arrangements. The Moytelexw Business Development Manager makes sound decisions which benefit Moytelexw as well as the Sts’ailes Organization and Community.

‍ ‍

The Moytelexw Business Development Manager will demonstrate excellent management, analytical and communication skills.

‍ ‍

The Moytelexw Business Development Manager will report directly to the Moytelexw Operations Officer.

‍ ‍

Qualifications and Requirements

‍ ‍

1.    Bachelor’s degree in business administration or another closely related field is required

‍ ‍

·         An equivalent amount of education combined with lived experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis

‍ ‍

2.    Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working in a business development, sales, marketing or closely related role. Experience within hospitality, retail or multi-unit business operations is preferred.

‍ ‍

3.    Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and the ability to negotiate and close a variety of business deals

‍ ‍

  1. Strong digital marketing skills including social media management, Google Business, and listing platform optimization

  2. Demonstrated ability to take initiative with successful outcomes having limited oversight

  3. Experience working within Indigenous organizations or within Indigenous communities

  4. Knowledge of grants and other funding sources to support Indigenous economic development

  5. The ability to travel as needed to support the development of business opportunities and to the create and maintain strategic partnerships

  6. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing demands and changing priorities

  7. The flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when required to support the business development needs of Moytelexw

  8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.

  9. Demonstrates punctuality, tact, initiative, reliability, thoroughness, sound judgment and the ability to deal effectively with protocol considerations while acting within their scope of responsibility.

13.  Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with reliable transportation
