General Accountability
TheSasq’ets Basket Event Host and Kitchen Steward is a multi‑functional front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house role responsible for welcoming guests, supporting events, preparing and serving food and beverages, handling cash, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
The Sasq’ets Basket Event Host and Kitchen Steward is responsible for supporting visitors and groups by ensuring a clean, welcoming and comfortable environment. The Sasq’ets Basket Event Host and Kitchen Steward provides courteous, friendly and efficient customer service, supports meeting/ event set ups which are often tied to catering bookings. The Sasq’ets Basket Event Host and Kitchen Steward will be responsible for the completion of light custodial, maintenance, kitchen and service support duties as needed as well as greeting guest, taking orders, handling payments, food preparation, stocking items and sanitation tasks.
TheSasq’ets Basket Event Host and Kitchen Steward will report directly the Sasq’ets Basket Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED
· An equivalent amount of education combined with lived experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
2. 1 to 2 years of work experience in customer service, hospitality, food service or closely related industry is preferred
3. Food Safe certification is required
4. WHMIS and First Aid certification is considered an asset
5. Current, valid Food Safe, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications are an asset.
6. Strong customer service, communication and teamwork skills are required.
7. Ability to manage time effectively and follow instructions/ procedures.
8. Basic computer skills such as the Microsoft Office suite of programs as well as Square is considered an asset
9. Ability to support the management of calendar, schedule bookings and coordinate clients
10. Excellent communication skills and willingness to work individually as well as part of a team
11. A desire to grow with the company.
12. Strong work ethic, integrity and punctuality
13. Valid class 5 BC driver’s license is required
Type of Position: Full-time – this position is subject to a 3-month probationary period
